:heart: You can buy the Joseph and Yusra comic issues here for $2.50 each: [link]
If my story ever was an actual anime, the cells would look bazillion times better than this XD... Lolz, Joseph and Yusra once again. I guess I should go back to whoring myself to fan-art for the new summer convention prints. Then again I wanna make an art book of them ;A;

not really it's a lot more complicated than it sounds. there are some programs wher eu can animate and make some simple cell animations but it's very complicated. Things like still take a lot of hours O_O;; not hours more like months to years, to make a long good professional one. Like the animations u see in movies those take like 3-6years... and that's at least 100 people working on it.

oh I see.. I thought maybe you know how..
I've tried to look everywhere to find out how..
I can only find how to do 3d animation and flash... and I don't really like the results of flash..
I'm sure stuff like real anime is not made with flash.. I think I would spend hours animating if I only knew how.. ><
Do they have a certain machine that scans their art?
Do they draw it on the computer?
I know Studio Ghibli does it by hand, so maybe they film it from the drawings, or maybe they scan all the drawings and make it into a movie..

Those are things I like to know how its done..
what I know or I think I know about cell animation is that they draw stuff in layers.. and maybe the guys face is on one layer and his hair is on another layer and they can re draw his hair on another page but keep the same face layer and book his hair moves in the wind...
I think

I know of some anime movies that took a long time to make but I thought most were done in like 1 or 2 years actually..
but maybe they had a lot of people working on it to get it done in like 2 years..

Steam boy was done in like 10 (or so I heard)

I have painted a cell before (which is what the actually use in traditional anime cel production)... yeah not fun. You are painting with acrylic on a clear transparency and it takes like 1-2 days to finish because you have to make sure the paint can't be seen though the transparency. When you layer a thick glob of paint it takes 2-3hrs to dry, then you have to add another coat and repeat the process. Also you have to pain in reverse so when you turn it over to the non-coated side it's just the And that's for only one picture, granted when you make a animation you need to make multiples so the character moves. ^_^; here's n example of a cel [link] .It's very complicated and time consuming even for a large group of people. Flash is like the easy way out because it's digital and you are not hand painting it. As for the machines that are actualy used to make it move I'm not sure, all I know is that when the use the machine it creates a blur effect between each movement so it appears smooth. ^_^;; You can probably try to do something digitally but it's not the same ;A; sadly. Too bad I as going to study animation XD but instead I am doing game design and sequential, because I heard that animation is really hard and animators don't really have a life. XD
